NORWEGIAN NIGHTS Dockside dining, dim sum and DJs are all on the menu at Hakkasan’s new Nordic venture. Housed in a quirky building with plenty of daylight, it took careful collaboration with the interior designer to make their concept a reality. The result? A lighting scheme that enhances the Ling Ling experience of “evolving” nights. In the dining area, simple long drop pendants hang over tables for intimacy, and a preserved tree is brought to life by a backlit coffer that creates dappled shadows through the leaves. For the flora outside, integrated illumination in the planting and pergolas offers a natural extension to the interior dining space. Back inside, the galvanised metal conduit installation is an eye-catcher. Punctuated with light it forms a framework effect throughout: from balustrade, to trellis and a radiating feature above the bar and dining area. The conduit’s illuminated sections pick up on the timber cladding, which houses concealed LEDs that wrap around the building’s perimeter to give the space a diffuse, ambient feel. And, the bar’s backdrop incorporates random lines of light to draw people in for a carefully-crafted cocktail. In the music and DJ area light levels were kept purposely low for a moodier effect, and cluster pendants added for accent. Transition spaces were also considered – they’re easily identified by the brand’s vibrant colour scheme that’s been integrated into cove lighting. A lighting control system follows the astronomical clock but because of the location, and the long summer nights, it can be easily overridden, giving the team the flexibility needed. The story of building the 1000-watt LED bar started last year, and in this video, it is attached to a drone for its first flight. As it's told in the video, with some battery modification, both the drone and the LED bar can run for about ten minutes. Taking the required power into consideration, ten minutes of running time sounds miraculous. In addition to lighting aerial videos at night, this experimental system (or builds similar to this system) can also be used for a variety of other purposes, from lighting subjects at any time of the day when shooting from the ground to aiding in search and rescue activities. New Year’s Eve 2017: SGM Q-7 strobes were the main cannons of the stage lighting for Justin Bieber’s exclusive show at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, FL. Everlast Productions have carried out the New Year’s Eve Party at Fontainebleau Hotel for several years. It was the first year that Tyler Frank spearheaded the overall design. Tyler and his crew took the shell of the structure from previous years and incorporated that into the new design for the stage. He wanted to create something that had more depth, immersion and dynamics, all the while fitting into the tight restrictions of the space. They built a 18m wide x 15m tall x 13m deep (60’ wide x 50’ tall x 40’ deep) structure and stage over an existing poolside bar. The lighting design had to be practical, bright and resilient to South Beach weather conditions. He explained why he chose the Q-7s for the stage setup: “The Q-7s were the main cannons for the show. They were the only fixtures that I could trust to fill in the void between the LED walls and to have a output bright enough to make it across the pool. The Q-7s were going to be out in the open to the elements and so the IP-rating and the durability of SGM was a no brainer. The fixtures acted as bookends to the LED wall and really brought synergy between the lighting and video elements.” Tyler was very satisfied with the performance of Q-7s from SGM: “The Q-7s set the bar for a LED strobe fixture. It’s a tank and can handle anything you throw at it. I didn’t have a single issue with these fixtures, whereas I had several with others due to the rain. The Q-7s are now in my bag of tricks - and I will definitely use them again.” The Everlast Production crew had no idea who the headliner was going to be until a few weeks beforehand, so they focused on creating a large canvas that could support any act. Once they found out that it was Justin Beiber, they got in touch with his team to make any changes. Fortunately, they loved the rig and rocked with what Everlast Productions had provided them. Alessi, Beautiful Kitchenware Store Design The design of the Alessi Flagship store in Soho New York creates a new identity for the Alessi brand and increases its global presence with the launch of this first US based store. Asymptote designed of the store’s interior architecture to reflect the brand's unparalleled reputation for innovation, quality and engagement in everyday life. As the Soho site is deep and relatively narrow Asymptote developed a sequence of spaces that are characterized and delineated by a geometric manipulation of the walls and ceiling that progresses through the length of the space. Integrated with the faceted geometry of the walls and ceiling, 'bands of light' are spaced at regular intervals throughout the store and function primarily as spatial thresholds between one interior module and the next. Beyond the mandated display of merchandise within the store's interior Asymptote designed a café, a bar as well as a small exhibition area, thereby transforming an otherwise conventional retail program into a multifaceted environment that engages the customer in unique ways. The storefront window itself, both propels the space of the store out into the urban environment while on the interior it extends and merges spatially with the adjoining exhibition area. Here at the store entrance iconic pieces from Alessi's extensive repertoire are exhibited in illuminated molded display modules inserted seamlessly into the walls. The design of the café is also integrated into the architecture of the store with recessed café seating and an articulated 3D milled counter that is set against a large scale custom designed wall graphic. This wall graphic along with the store's distinctive packaging, signage and other elements were all designed by Asymptote as part of Alessi's new branding strategy. Шаг 3: Сшить петли для рук и одеть шайбы Обрежьте петли для рук до нужной длинны, а затем снова сшейте концы петель, при этом учтите, что петли примерно на 2,5 см будут находиться внутри ручки. Шаг 5: Отрезать и пропустить проволоку через пластиковый корпус Единственным найденным способом, гарантирующим, что светодиод не вывалится из ручки PomGrip когда вы уроните пои, это зафиксировать его крышкой с проволокой. Это, пожалуй, самый большой недостаток этой конструкции. Для этого, надо отрезать 4 кусочка ювелирной проволоки длиной 20 см. С помощью подходящего инструмента, сделайте четыре отверстия в пластиковой крышке от ранее оставшегося корпуса светодиода. Пропустите через них проволоку, хорошенько подтяните плоскогубцами и скрутите ее. У вас должен получиться небольшой треугольник, высотой примерно 1,25 см между внешней стороной крышки и началом скрутки проволоки. Повторите эти действия для второй половины пластикового корпуса. Сложите концы скрученной проволоки вместе и сделайте их одинаковой длины. Шаг 6: Установка пластиковых крышек в ручки PomGrip Аккуратно вставьте светодиодный модуль в пластиковый корпус до упора. Проверьте его работоспособность, надавив на его нижнюю часть до щелчка, если все нормально, то можете продолжить дальше. Возьмите ручку PomGrip, используя плоскогубцы, вытащите петлю с шайбой обратно. Возьмите пластиковый корпус с установленным светодиодом и пропустите проволоку через маленькое отверстие в центре ручки, шайба должна остаться в стороне. Затем подтяните петлю обратно, одновременно подтягивая проволоку. Когда светодиод приблизится к корпусу ручки, осторожными, массирующими движениями вставьте его в ранее вырезанный паз внутри ручки. После этого, еще раз подтяните проволоку, чтобы убедится, что она не собралась внутри ручки. Шаг 7: Изгибание распорных вставок и их установка Возьмите распорные вставки и согните их концы под углом 90 градусов. Места сгибов как раз проходят по готовым отверстиям. Так как отверстия немного узковатые для скрученной проволоки, предварительно надо их немного расширить. После этого, пропустите концы скрученной проволоки через отверстия и опустите распорную вставку к основанию ручки, так, чтобы загнутые концы смотрели вниз. Это на изображениях не показано, но ширина распорной вставки в согнутом виде больше чем диаметр отверстия, поэтому надо сделать небольшие прорези в ручке. Используя канцелярский нож, сделайте две небольшие прорези в ручке напротив загнутых концов. Загнутые концы распорной вставки должны утопиться в эти прорези. Установите распорную вставку в сделанные прорези, при этом поддерживайте петлю и проволоку плоскогубцами. Шаг 8: Скручивание проволоки после распорной вставки С помощью плоскогубцев, скрутите концы скрученной проволоки, так, чтобы образовался плотный узел как можно ближе к распорной вставке. Кусачками откусите лишнюю проволоку и аккуратно загните острые концы, так, чтобы они не за что не цеплялись. Шаг 9: Готово! Вуаля! Теперь ваши светодиодные ручки готовы к ослепительному шоу, и возможно, теперь вы еще больше сблизитесь с вашими пои.
